CEPS Projectes Socials is part of a consortium of European social organizations that have developed the ECHOP project—an initiative aimed at supporting food aid organizations in diversifying their offerings and ensuring regular, healthy nutrition for people living in poverty.
The organizations behind this project bring extensive experience in the social field from various perspectives. Some of the partners are entities specialized in this specific topic and thus provide in-depth insights into its particularities. Others, such as CEPS, have a strong track record in training and managing social services. The combination of these experiences has been key to enriching the knowledge and perspectives reflected in the materials produced throughout the project.
In addition to a gallery of models or good practices and a methodological guide, the ECHOP project offers targeted training for individuals and organizations working in this sector. Furthermore, this coming October, a White Paper will be published, addressed to policymakers across various European countries and members of the European Parliament, with the aim of highlighting the issue of hunger and the urgent need for effective and efficient measures to tackle one of the most pressing problems affecting European citizens.
On 10 October 2025, CEPS Projectes Socials will present the results of the project within the framework of the conference “Com abordem la prevenció del malbaratament alimentari des de les entitats socials“, organized by the Departament d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació, l’Oficina Conjunta de l’Alimentació Sostenible i l’Ajuntament de Barcelona n collaboration with the Fundació Banc de Recursos, Rezero, and Fundació Espigoladors, qwhich has also taken part in the development of the project.
Likewise, on 13 October 2025, in one of the rooms of the European Parliament, the project partners will organize a presentation conference, with the participation of academics, Members of the European Parliament, and representatives of organizations actively engaged in this issue. The aim is to reinforce the message on the need to give the highest priority to the fight against hunger in public policies, establishing concrete mechanisms to eradicate it among European citizens.
