Since our last update, it has been a busy period of planning, developing and delivering the first set of ICUD pilot training workshops in London. Dr Denise Stanley (local research coordinator), Keith Gilles (learning manager) and Kriss Davies (facilitator) agreed the overall strategy and identified suitable young people to participate in the sessions.

We held a briefing on Wednesday 9^th October 2013 for the 20-25 participants to introduce the ICUD project, the workshops and the planned outcomes. The first workshop was held on 16^th October on ‘Me and You’ – identity and diversity. Followed by the second workshop on 17^th October on ‘Me, You and US’ – Self-disclosure in Real and Virtual Contexts. The third workshop was held today (18^th October) on ‘Me, You, Us and Them’ – Challenging subtle discrimination on-line and in social media.

We had 2 diverse mixed-gender groups taking part in the training last week. Next week, we have planned for 2 more diverse single-gender groups to take part in the workshops on 22/23/24 October, followed by planned presentations from all the groups and a de-briefing session on 5^th November, followed by a short promo video screening on 12^th November.

Materials from the training will be used to inform our digital exhibition as well as develop anti-discriminatory tools and materials for the International Conference in March 2014.
