In October, Berlin hosted the 18th WAVE conference organized by the WAVE Network. Under the slogan “Step up! Europe – Unite to end violence against women and their children” over 400 participants coming from different countries and continents and ranging from members of the academia, government representatives to EU and UN experts discussed the pressing issues related to violence against women and children across Europe, including effective measures that can prevent it. The conference created a platform for discussion and interaction between experts and practitioners from 52 countries. This gave them an opportunity to reinforce their feminist principles, strengthen their commitments, find inspiration and new approaches in the field of preventing violence against women, and engage with new ideas to give and receive mutual support. As part of the panel ‘Public and Private Companies Preventing Violence against Women and Supporting Survivors’, Ms Gigi Guizzo from CEPS Projectes Socials, presented the #CARVEdaphne guide for companies as well as the upcoming training of the #USVreact project.
