Bystanders can be instrumental in putting an end to a situation of sexual harassment or assault. However, recognizing the early signs and knowing how to intervene is not always easy. This is why the US-based project Safe Bars “trains and empowers staff at alcohol-serving establishments to recognize and respond to incidents of sexual harassment and assault among staff and patrons.” This successful initiative provides voluntary establishments with a comprehensive training completed by the award “Safe Bar” certification.
