There is no country free from male violence against women. The movement #NiUnaMenos (#NotOneLess) launched in 2015 in Argentina to put an end to this violence is spreading throughout many Latin American countries, including Peru. There, two very lenient sentences are fueling the anger: two men who violently beat two women, as shown by videos, have only been condemned to suspended prison sentences. Therefore, on 13 of August 2016, thousands of women took the streets of different Peruvian cities to protest against male violence and demand justice.
