Our watch: preventing violence against women and girls everywhere

The elimination of gender-based violence will be achieved by a paradigm in values and norms. The Australian project Our Watch, reflects this acknowledgment and commits to the eradication of male violence against women and children.

In 2013, the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments of Australia formed Our watch, to drive nation-wide change in the culture, behaviours and attitudes that underpin and create violence against women and children. It puts its main emphasis on the prevention of gender-based violence by promoting equal and respectful relationships between women and men, non-violent social norms and intends to improve access to support and resources. This necessary mission is meant to be lead in collaboration with public and private institutions, as well as with the civil society.

In particular, it provides tools and information for every one who would like to make a change including professional at the workplace. This section includes a list of reasons why it is worthy to tackle this issue at the workplace, and what employers and employees can do to take action.
