Thanks to the European programme Leonardo da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation, this project has evolved as a result of the shared experiences of five partner cities (Linz, Vicenza, Marseille, Barcelona and Lisbon), two of which have been European Capitals of Culture.
The conference focused in the different aspects of this European project at two roundtables and several presentations by project partners from the five countries concerned. The first round table explored new employment opportunities and ways of supporting unemployed people through cultural and heritage initiatives. The second round table dealt with the increase in citizen involvement in promoting living heritage.
The conference compared different perspectives on the ideas of employability, professional development and lifelong training programmes in the cultural and tourism sectors. It has been developed mainly for people and organisations working in training and professional development, tourism, community work, heritage and culture.
